NO. 06                         WATER MILL PRIMARY SCHOOL          08-11-2010

Dear Parents/Carers,

PHOTOGRAPHS

The photographer will be in school this Wednesday 10th November.

There will be individual photographs of your child and also family group photographs.

If you would like a family group with younger siblings then please come into school after the bell has rung and make your way to the school hall.  Please do not bring older siblings as they should be in school at this time.

POPPIES

Poppies are on sale in school for pupils and in the school playground at 3:25 p.m. for adults.  It has been suggested a minimum donation of 10p for children.

CHOIR

Our School Choir are singing at A Gala Concert on Sunday 28th November at The Town Hall.  Details have been circulated to all Choir members.

CHRISTMAS PLAYS

This year our Christmas Plays will take place on Tuesday 14th December at 1:30 p.m. and Wednesday 15th December at 9:15 a.m.  We will be sending out further information and ticket request forms at a later date.

THEATRE TRIP

Letters went out on Friday for our annual trip to the theatre.  This year KS1 will be going to The Town Hall to see ‘We’re All Going On A Bear Hunt’ on Wednesday 12th January 2011 p.m.

KS2 children will be going to The Old Rep to see ‘The Firework Maker’s Daughter’ on Friday 21st January 2010 p.m.

Please send money in as soon as possible, if we cannot cover our costs the trips will have to be cancelled.  Please do call in to the school office if you are likely to experience problems in paying for this.

Although a lovely experience in its own right the theatre a trip is also on integral part of school work and children are at a disadvantage if they miss it.

LUNCHTIMES/BREAK TIMES

We have had some queries about the organisation of these times.  When the weather is fine the children go out into the playground where there are many organised games during lunchtimes and a range of toys such as hula hoops, skipping ropes and small stilts.  In addition children play ball games and their own imaginative games.

When the weather is wet the children stay indoors.  Each class has a large box of age appropriate ‘wet day toys’ and from time to time have the opportunity to watch a suitable DVD.  If the weather allows it we always take the children out, even if only for a short time, to get some fresh air.
