NO. 10                       WATER MILL PRIMARY SCHOOL                31-01-2011

Dear Parents/Carers,

FUNDRAISING

Tomorrow we are going to be joined by a representative of Barnardos.  We are doing a joint sponsor event after half term.  All funds raised will be split 50:50 between Barnardos and ourselves.  More details will follow.

 THEATRE TRIPS

Everyone had a lovely time at the theatre.  There has been lots of work based around these trips and children have benefitted greatly.

KS1’s corridor has even been changed into a Bear Hunt theme!

 PE/OUTDOOR GAMES/DANCE & SWIMMING

Due to updates in Health & Safety Regulations pupils are no longer allowed to wear jewellery of any kind when taking part in PE.  This includes stud or any other earrings because of possible injury.  Children need to be able remove their own earrings/jewellery or not wear them to school.

SWIMMING

Swimming is on a Thursday morning.

Please send a full swim kit into school if your child is swimming.

All children will be sent swimming unless we have note from parents excusing them for medical reasons.

PARENT HOTLINE

We have a parent hotline set up for emergency messages e.g. if the weather turns dangerous and we have to close the school. The number to ring is:  08447 70 75 76

You then have to enter the school ID which is: 44681.

If there is no message assume school is open.

DROP IN SESSION

There is still a drop in session on Wednesday morning from 9:10 to 9:25 a.m. when parents can speak to their child’s teacher.  Please enquire to ensure the teacher is free for this informal 5 minute chat.  If this time is not suitable for you please check with the teacher if they are available for 5 minutes after school. If you need to speak to staff urgently, Mrs. Sale is usually available after 9:10 a.m.  Any messages for teachers first thing in the morning can be left with the office as teachers need to take responsibility for their class.

REMINDER

Please ensure that your child’s school uniform still fits including PE kit and that all items are named.

Please remember PE kit and book bags should be in school every day.

Please can you ensure that your child wears sensible shoes for school.
