• Voting and Training Day

  The school is being used for voting on 6th May and therefore staff and children will not be allowed into school on that day. We have decided to take 7th May as a training day so that the children are not in just for one day so the school will also be closed to children on this day.

• Information about an incident near St Marys C of E Primary School

  Dear Parents

  I have been asked to let you know about an incident which happened near St Marys Primary School, Selly Oak last week. See below:

   

  'I wanted to alert your school to an incident which took place last Friday morning that we have been made aware of this morning.

  An unknown male approached one of our pupils on Lodge Hill Road before the start of school last Friday (5th March) at approximately 8.30am. He was driving a company van that was predominantly white in colour, unfortunately the child cannot remember much more about this vehicle. 

  The incident has been reported to the police this morning but I wanted to alert schools local to here so they are able to use this information as they wish.'

   

  Can you please remind your children about not talking to strangers and about reporting any incidents to you and the school. Thank you.

  Welcome Back Everyone

  It was lovely to see all the smiling faces of our children this morning. There has been a wonderful buzz in school this morning, with lots of excited children. We have also welcomed some new children to school today.

   

  Thank you to parents for everything you have done over the last few months and to staff for their hard work. We are all keeping our fingers crossed that we will be back to normal now and that there will be no future closures.

   

  There have been one or two changes in our staff over the last few months. Miss Linden has started her maternity leave therefore Mrs Hoye and a new teacher called Mrs Abbatt Walker will be teaching in Year 2. Mr Murphy has left the school and we will have a new site manager starting in April called Mr Blythe. Mrs McHale, who was on maternity leave, has decide she wants to stay at home with her children so will not be returning as expected. Her Friday in Year 4 is being covered by Miss South at the moment and will be covered by Miss James in April.
